Soul music?

I have discovered a new found love for soul music, have been listening a lot to John Legend... which other artists are good to listen to in this genre? I am looking to expand my CD collection :-) try going to his website you can listen to his music on there, it's great thanks for all the suggestions so far :-) are there any current artists to add to the old skool ones

2. Jill Scott, Angy Stone, Common although he is more hip hop based, Erykah Badu's old stuff. Nina Simone. Theres a host of folks.
3. Buy a sixties compilation with the likes of Percy Sledge, Aretha Franklin, Otis Redding and The Bar-Kays on. That's real soul music.

6. well there is India Arie and Luther Vandross of course. then there is th Isley Brothers, and Donny Hathaway, Dazz Band, Con Funk Shun, Tower of Power, Earth, Wind and Fire. There is a lot. Try out a little Anita Baker. It's all good music. Enjoy.
7. Do you want old or new artists? My faves would be Alicia Keys, Floetry, Marvin Gaye (any motown really, like Otis Reading, Stevie Wonder etc) ummm...mind has now gone blank, but hope that is of some use!

You must You must You must but the Dance with My father album by Luther Vandross Buy this album it is the epitomy of soul and love and it is greeeeeeaaaaaaaaattt music honestly buy it you will never ever regret it and if you love soul music a lot it will never be out of your cd player. Luther was a god and his music is timeless buy the dance with my father album and on it is the class "dance with my father" "buy me a rose" "think about you" and loads more its brilliant BUY IT!
